Babymoon Photo session at Four Seasons Hualalai by Big Island Photographer
There’s nothing better than treating yourself to a babymoon… especially if you’re going to be welcoming your first baby. Taking the time to intentionally connect with your partner before life, well, turns upside down (in a good way!) is such an act of love. Your lives are about to change, in the best possible way. Honor that major life transition with a little bit of relaxation!
Adriana and Daniel reached out to us to book a babymoon session and of course, we were in! Their trip happened in late June, which is SUCH a wonderful time to visit. The temperature is usually right around 85 degrees, rarely falling below 82 or above 87. Simply perfect!
Their session happened right near their resort, which was the Four Seasons in Kailua-Kona. It worked out so well because the resort is located on a beautiful white-sand beach with stunning black-lava landscapes nearby. A photographer’s dream come true! It was convenient for them and we had so much to work with, as you can see in the photos!
Planning Your Babymoon – Choosing a Hotel
There are SO many great hotels to choose from in Kailua-Kona, and all over the Big Island! Of course, we’re always available to ask questions and give advice. We’ve lived here long enough and worked so many special events at these hotels, so we know a thing or two about where to stay. Send us an email or a direct message on Instagram and we can give you some tips!
In addition to hotels and resorts, Hawaii has lots of Airbnb and timeshare options, so you may want to look into those as well. This is especially true if you want a full kitchen to cook in while you’re here! No matter what type of accommodations you choose, just make sure to look at five recent reviews to get a sense of what staying there is like.
Planning Your Babymoon – Tips for Photos
There isn’t a lot to remember when it comes to planning your babymoon photos. After all, that’s our job! You just get to show up, smile, and let us do all the work. However, there are a few tips we want to share that might result in better babymoon photos:
What to Wear – Sorry, gentlemen… no matter how handsome you are, all of the focus is likely going to be on the mom-to-be. It’s best to dress simply. Choose something classic like a button down shirt in a more neutral color or pattern paired with some khakis or shorts.
For the ladies, a flowing dress is always a good choice. You can go short or long for the dress, whatever you’re comfortable with! Wide leg linen pants and a flowy top are also a great choice! If flowy isn’t your style, you can’t go wrong with a bodycon dress that showcases your bump!
Focus on the Love – Lots of times, couples will ask if they can bring props like baby shoes or signs. If that’s important to you, we can accommodate it. But, we also really like to take babymoon photos that focus on the love between you and your partner.
Some of our favorite photos are the ones where the couple is just holding hands or enjoying a moment of connection. We can capture some beautiful detailed shots of your hands and faces and the stillness of the moment. But of course, we will get some good belly shots, too.
We can’t wait to celebrate your new chapter with you! You can inquire about our babymoon photography packages by emailing us at hello@couplecups.com or by filling out this form.
