As a family of very active 6yrs old, we would like to share our favorite activities for your family on our beautiful Big Island. Our son Aras loves to be outside and so we do!
- Beach + Pool & Repeat. Our favorite beaches: Kikaua Park Keiki Beach, Kona Keiki Beach, Puako Beach + our favorite 49’s black sand beach
- If your hotel or Airbnb doesn’t have a pool, book the Hilton Resort Pass! It’s a fun day at the pool and beach. Kids love the train and boat at the Hotel. Such a fun family day! We do it once per year.
- Boat trip and slide! Captain Cook Snorkeling with Slide or Sunset Cruise from Waikoloa.
- Acai Bowls and Musubis are a must to try!
- If you plan a trip to Hilo, don’t forget to visit Hilo Zoo. It’s free and has a very fun playground. Highly recommend stopping at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center. It’s the most fun stop in Hilo with kids. It’s like a big indoor playground. Just perfect when it’s rainy in Hilo.
- Waimea Playground and Farmers Market in Waimea on Saturdays. Come early morning and later visit Waipio Valley!
- If your kids play tennis, come visit Mauna Lani Tennis Court. You and your kids can join the tennis class or a camp! You can book a private lesson for yourself while your kids play tennis.
- Check Events: Big Island Events & Donkey Mill Center Do not miss these events: Waimea Christmas Parade, Kona Christmas Parade, First Friday Holualoa Village , Kona Brewers Festival
- Join us for a fun Family Run. We usually run the Dry Forest Run, Turkey Trot, and Jingle Bell 5K Beer Run. Aras joins us for 5K runs!
- Book The Family Session with Big Island Family Photographer, send us an email!
